cōnsentāneus, a, um (consentio), mit etwas übereinstimmend, im Einklang stehend, einer Sache entsprechend (Ggstz. dissentaneus, repugnans), quod quidem erat consentaneum cum iis litteris, quas ego Romae acceperam, Cic. ep. 3, 6, 2. – gew. m. Dat., cuiusque naturae, Cornif. rhet.: tempori, Cic.: alci, Cic.: absol., c. vir vitā et morte, sich gleich, Vell. – dah. consentaneum est, es ist vereinbar, reimt sich zusammen, es ist die natürliche, vernunftgemäße Folge, es ist natürlich, vernunftgemäß, es ist in der Ordnung, es paßt, m. folg.
