Rede, huius paginae, das enge Schreiben am Ende einer Seite, Cic. ad Att. 5, 4. § 4. – syllabae, Kontraktion in der Aussprache (Ggstz. productio), Cic. – passiv, die Gedrängtheit, orationis (Ggstz. longitudo, die Gedehntheit), Cic. – 2) die Beengung des Gemütes od. Geistes: a) des Gemütes, das Gedrückt- od. Gepreßtsein, die Beklommenheit des Herzens, c. animi (Ggstz. animi effusio in laetitia u. animi elatio), Cic.: fortissimorum animorum c., Sen. – b) des Geistes, die krankhafte Spannung, utraque res detestabilis, et contractio et torpor (krankhafte Abspannung, Erlahmen), Sen. ep. 82, 3.
