Pers., die mit etw. bedecken: c. alqm lapidibus, steinigen (als Strafe), Cic. u.a.: alqm vestimento, umhüllen, Lact. – β) v. dem, was selbst die Decke usw. abgibt, exisse rapaces per terras amnes atque oppida coperuisse, Lucr.: ita ut quindecim phasiana ova nutrix una cooperiat, Pallad. – oft im Passiv, terrae diluvio cooperiuntur, Aur.
