Cōpae, ārum, f. (Κῶπαι), alte böotische Bundesstadt, nördl. von dem nach ihr benannten See Kopais, beim j. Topoglia, Plin. 4, 26. – Dav. Cōpāis, idis, f. (Κωπαΐς), kopaisch, palus, der kopaische See oder See Kopais, ein weiter Kesselsee in Böotien, der durch den Kephissus gebildet und im Spätsommer so ausgetrocknet war, daß sein Bett eine grasreiche Ebene bildete, reich an Flötenrohr, Federwild und Aalen, Liv. 33, 29, 26.
