(corripio), I) das Anpacken, Anfassen, c. manus, Gell. 20, 10, 8. – als mediz. t. t., der Anfall einer Krankheit, Scrib. 171. – übtr., das Herunterreißen, Tadeln, Schelten, der Tadel, Eccl. (auch im Plur.). – II) das Verkürzen, die Verkürzung, correptiones dierum, das Abnehmen der Tage (Ggstz. crescentiae), Vitr. 9, 9 (8), 7. – als gramm. t. t. = die Verkürzung, Schärfung in der Aussprache (Ggstz. productio), syllabae, Varro LL. u. Quint.: vocum, Quint.
