litterātē, Adv. (litteratus), I) mit deutlichen Buchstaben, sunt (rationes) perscriptae scite et litterate, Cic. Pis. 61. – II) übtr.: 1) buchstäblich, wörtlich, respondere, Cic. de har. resp. 8, 17. – 2) gelehrt, im wissenschaftlichen Sinne, dicta, geistreiche Einfälle, Cic.: antiquitatis nostrae et in inventis rebus et in actis scriptorumque veterum litterate peritus, der eine durch Kritik geläuterte Kenntnis besitzt, Cic.: perbene loqui Latine et litteratius quam ceteri, mehr dem genauen Schrifttum angemessen, korrekter, Cic.
