lōmentum, ī, n. (lavo), I) ein Waschmittel, eine aus Bohnenmehl u. Reis geknetete Masse, mit der die röm. Damen die Haut zu glätten suchten, Plin. 18, 117. Mart. 3, 42, 1. Pallad. 11, 14, 9. Corp. inscr. Lat. 4, 2597: übtr., censuram lomentum aut nitrum esse, sei eine Art Waschmittel oder Lauge, Cael. in Cic. ep. 8, 14, 4. – II) übtr., eine blaue Farbe, Eschel, Plin. 33, 162. – Nbf. lūmentum, Schol.
