Marpēssus, ī, f. (Μαρπησσός, andere Aussprache für Μαρμησσός od. Μερμησσός, Marmessus, Mermessus), Flecken in Phrygien am Ida, Sitz der erythräischen Sibylle, Varro fr. bei Lact. 1, 6, 12 (al. Marmesso). – Dav. Marpēssius, a, um, marpessisch, aus Marpessus, Hierophile, die marp. Sibylle, Tibull. 2, 5, 67 (und dazu Dissen).
