Paelīgnī, ōrum, m., eine italische Völkerschaft u. deren Gebiet in Samnium neben den Frentanern, südlich von den Marrucini, in dem heutigen Abruzzo citeriore, Cic. Vatin. 36. Caes. b. c. 1, 15, 7. Liv. 8, 6, 8. Corp. inscr. Lat. 9, 3306: Sing. Paelignus kollektiv, Cato origg. 2. fr. 18. – Dav.: a) Paelīgnus, a, um, pälignisch, cohors, Enn.: miles, Ov.: anus, Zauberin (weil die Päligner im Rufe der Zauberei standen), Hor – b) Paelīgniānus, a, um, pälignianisch, fundus, Corp. inscr.
