Pers., sudat, pallet, Cic.: palleat omnis amans, Ov.: metu, timore, mortis cogitatione, Ov.: viso nummo, Pers. – 2) meton.: a) infolge einer üblen od. einer guten Leidenschaft blaß-, bleich-, krank sein, α) absol.: corpora ignaviā (vom Nichtstun) pallentia, Sen.: quisquis ambitione malā aut argenti pallet amore, Hor. – im guten Sinne, v. eifrig Studierenden, vigilandum, durandum, enitendum, pallendum est, man muß wachen, aufmerken, ausdauern, sich anstrengen, daß man darüber bleich wird, Quint. 7, 10, 14. – β) m. Acc. od. Dat., bei od. über etwas erbleichen = etwas bis zum Erblassen-, eifrig studieren, m. Acc., hoc est quod palles, Pers.: iratum Eupolidem, Pers.: m.
