Aphaea, ae, f. (Ἀφαια v. α u. φαίνομαι, die Unsichtbar-Gewordene, Verschwundene), Beiname der Britomartis (no. I), unter dem diese bei den Ägineten (weil sie vor den Verfolgungen eines Schiffers fliehend in einem Heiligtume der Artemis auf der Insel Ägina verschwand) einen Tempel hatte u. verehrt wurde, Ps. Verg. Cir. 303.
