prōductio, ōnis, f. (produco), I) das Hervorführen, Ausrückenlassen, utriusque exercitus, Dict. 2, 38. – II) die Ausdehnung, die Verlängerung, a) eines Wortes durch Ansatz einer Silbe, Cic. top. 36. Gell. 11, 15. § 6 u. 8. – b) einer Silbe in der Aussprache, das Ziehen, die Dehnung, Ggstz. contractio, Cic., Ggstz. correptio, Varro LL. u. Quint. – c) einer Zeit, das Hinausschieben, pr. temporis, Cic. de fin. 3, 45: vitae huius pr. temporalis, Augustin. serm. 140, 16. – III) als t. t. der Musik = τόνος, der gezogene Ton, Mart. Cap. 9. § 933 (auch im Plur.).
