profūsio, ōnis, f. (profundo), die Ergießung, Vergießung, I) eig.: a) als mediz. t. t.: sanguinis, Cels. u. Firm.: alvi, Durchfall, Cels. – b) als t. t. der Opfersprache, die Spende, Libation an Wein usw., si focos odorati aut veteris vini profusione madefecerint, Lact. 6, 1, 5. – Plur. profusiones, die Spenden, Libationen an Wasser, Wein, warmer Milch, Honig, Öl, Blut von Opfertieren, die auf die Gräber als Totenopfer für die Manen ausgegossen wurden, Corp. inscr.
