(πτισάνη v. πτίσσω, stampfen), I) die gestampfte und von Hülsen gereinigte (deshalb mit dem Zusatz elota) Gerste, Gerstengrütze (hingegen polenta Gerstengraupen), Cels. 2, 12; 4, 4, 3 u.a. Mart. 12, 72, 4. Plin. Val. 2, 37 in. (wo tysana). Apic. 4, 179: ptisanae cremor, Cels. 4, 13 u. 15. Scrib. Larg. 93. Veget. mul. 3, 27, 4: ptisanae sucus, Cels. 2, 20, 1. Apic. 5, 208. Isid. orig. 20, 3, 21: ptisanae sorbitio, Suppe von G., Cels. 4, 7. – II) ein aus Gerstengrütze bereiteter Trank, der Gerstentrank, Varro sat. Men. 318 (b. Non. 550, 19). Plin. 18, 74; 20, 46 u.a.: übtr. ein Trank von Reis, Plin. 18, 71. – / In den besten Hdschrn. des Plin., Mart., Apic. u. Non. geschrieben tisana, was von Sillig, Jan u.
