(reus), I) der Zustand eines Angeklagten, das Angeklagtsein, der Anklagestand, in reatu esse, verklagt sein, ICt.: si det iniqua tibi tristem fortuna reatum, wenn dich hartes Geschick zum Angeklagten macht, Mart.: dehinc quod tam duros tamque obnoxios vos reatui omnis populus iudicet, Ps. Sen. ad Paul. ep.: revocato ad reatum Alcibiade, um ihn in den A. zu versetzen, Iustin. – II) meton.: A) die Schuld, die Beschuldigung, der Vorwurf, Apul. u. Eccl. – B) das Äußere-, die Kleidung eines Angeklagten (klass. sordes), Apul. met. 9, 30.
