saniēs, ēi, f. (Nbf. v. sanguis), I) verdorbenes Blut und andere Säfte des Körpers, die noch nicht in weißen u. zähen Eiter (pus) übergegangene Jauche, Wundjauche (s. Cels. 5, 26, 20 sanies est tenuior hoc [sc. sanguine], varie crassa et glutinosa et colorata: pus crassissimum albidissimumque, glutinosius et sanguine et sanie), Cato, Cels. u.a.: antiqui medici nesciebant saniem emittere, Sen.: si aures manent sanie, Plin. – II) übtr., v. ähnlichen Flüssigkeiten, Saft, 1) im allg.: aranei, vom Safte der Spinne, Plin.: v.
