struppus (stroppus), ī, m. (στρόφος), I) ein gedrehter Riemen, zur Sänfte, Gracch. b. Gell. 10, 3, 5: so auch zum Anbinden der Ruder an die Ruderbank, griech. τροπός, τροπωτήρ, Liv. Andr. b. Isid. orig. 19, 4, 9. Vitr. 10, 3, 6. – II) ein dünner Kranz, der aus Schnüren von Bast gedreht und aus Bandschleifen geschlungen wurde, aus dem dann Blätter und Blumen in Zwischenräumen hervorragten, Plin. 21, 3; vgl. Fest. 313 (a), 12. – Dav. struppeāria, iōrum, n., das Kranzfest, Fest. 313 (a), 20.
