vulsus (volsus), a, um, PAdi. (v. vello), I) mit ausgerupften Haaren = haarlos, bartlos, glatt, a) eig., Plaut. u. Quint.: nepos, glatt, stutzerhaft (weil die Stutzer sich den Bart ausrupfen ließen), weichlich, Prop.: u. so iuvenis volsus et nitidus, Hieron. epist. 79, 7. – b) bildl.: mens est volsa tibi, v. einem Einfältigen, Geistesschwachen (vgl. das Gegenteil im Griech. λάσιαι φρένες), Mart. 2, 36, 6. – II) an Zuckungen leidend, spastisch, subst. im Plur., vulsi, Plin. 21, 126; 23, 25. Veget. mul. 5, 65, 1. – III) volsa, ōrum, n., Verrenkungen, Plin. 22, 43.
