Casīnum, ī, n. (samnit. Wort = forum vetus, s. Varr. LL. 7, 29), Stadt in Latium, am Fluß Casinus, mit einer Burg, an deren Stelle j. das berühmte Stift Monte Casino, Trümmer der Stadt selbst beim j. S. Germano, Liv. 9, 28, 8.
